June 27, 2012 in China....
but, the important date to us is that it is still June 26, 2012 in the US... the day my mom entered Heaven... in 2010.
Well, the day FINALLY has come that Amaris' will be able to walk in (ie. carried by Mama because she doesn't want to walk yet by herself) to her Consulate Appointment.
We woke up early, got to breakfast... girls still in their "cofffee" pajamas.
We finished breakfast, raced back upstairs to get the girls Consulate Appointment dresses on... and then were off to the appointment.
Just a few minutes into the drive... which we left 20 minutes late for, our guide, Eva, asked if we all had our passports. Nope! Forgot those!
We had to continue driving (because you can't always turn around in Guangzhou). Eventually we got behind our hotel. Jason jumped out and ran in the back way... he was in and out in just a few minutes. Fast enough that we thought he might have been wearing his Superman underwear this morning.
We made it with no minutes to spare. We left everything at security and walked in. The gal was already talking to the other families. There weren't more than 30 families. In fact, there may only have been 15 or so. A couple families were called up, but never responded. We were called next.
I can remember when they called Gabriella's name two years ago. When she heard her Chinese name, she just lit up. It was so precious.
The girls, in their sweet little princess outfits joined us all up at the counter with their proud teenage sister. The gentleman was so sweet... and, he even pronounced Amaris' name correctly. (Uh-mare-is)
Since cameras are not permitted, this was the only place we could take photos.
