The bonding process in adoption is different for every child, but for most, no eye contact, and no talking, is the norm. This is the expected and anticipated behavior, but the majority of the children will bounce out of this by day 3 or day 4 with their new family. Oh what a joy it is to watch the transition of a lost and hurting child begin to understand trust, love and affection, some for the very first time.
